Question by Jennifer D: Can I use a pie plate or something in place of a gold pan?
I am taking my kids out and panning for gold today, I can't find any gold pans in my area, can I use anything else? Any helpful tips would be great also.

You can use a deep pie pan with a low sloping side instead of a gold pan. Anything that gradually comes to the lips so you can control the water and dirt in the pan.
