Question by Johnny C: Panning and cropping more than 1 video onto of eachother in Sony Vegas?
Im making a machinima and the 1st video I crop wont stretch fully into the wide screen TV so I was thinking of putting the video on half of the TV and then getting a question mark and cropping it to the other side of the TV but when I put the question mark ontop of the other cropped video it doesnt show up.
So can someone tell me a way to either stretch a video wider or how to crop a video ontop of another cropped video? thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by xXSallyXx This may sound really confusing but I'll try to explain!
Right click event pan/crop
On the event crop/pan tools you will see this two square-ish icons the top one is to lock aspect ratio click it so that you can unlock it
if you make it smaller, the screen gets smaller
or you can use a preset, I find them really helpful sometimes^_^
well I tried explaing it but i dont know if you understood

Question by YoMommaAteTheFly!!!: are gold panning and placer mining the same thing?
I'm doing a national history day assignment and I was doing research in wikipedia about gold panning and then wikipedia said about the history of placer mining. so is placer the same thing as gold panning? Thanks for reading!
Best answer:
Answer by nobody@9000ft gold panning is a type of placer mining. It is old-school and small scale. Placer mining simply refers to deposits that are not lode deposits (lode deposits being contained within a host rock, like a vein). Placer deposits used to be veins that are weathered (the mountain with the vein in it is completely washed away over millions of years) and transported, and concentrated by water.

Question by rockhound: Where can I buy a gold panning kit in Dubai UAE?
I can really use something similar to a Garrett gold pan.
Best answer:
Answer by lostrockhead Mail order, I would suggest, or just use a skillet. Try this link, and look for gold panning clubs in the US. They can tell you what to look for, and how to do it. I don't know if Dubai has gold in the creek sediments, but then again, Missouri in the US has gold from the Rocky mountains around 600 miles away. Look at geologic maps to indicate areas of interest.

Question by Ozymandias: What should I look for in a gold pan, to go gold panning in Alaska?
My family is moving to the Fairbanks Alaska area, and my wife and I had the idea of gold panning during the summer months while we are there as an outdoor recreation activity, something the whole family could enjoy.
While we MAY end up with a small sluice in a year or two, for right now we are going to be restricted to panning.
Our first goal is to get the family panning enough to scavange up enough to make me a ring.
Looking at gold pans I see many different types, and I was wondering which was best?
I see ones with DEEP ruffles cut 90 degrees, but these seem very large grooves to me, then there are some with just a small lip, and some are smooth.
Then there are the sizes, 10 inch, 12 inch, 14 inch...
and Colors... black, green, orange, pink...
Could use some info...
Anyone know a good brand of gold pan?
Best answer:
Answer by jonnydollar1950 The larger the pan the more dirt it will hold. Plastic pans work all right. Be sure and wash them with a good dish soap. If you go with metal, try what my grandfather did. get a small fire going and put the pan in up side down. This burns all the oil off and darkens the metal allowing you to see the gold better. if you go with plastic try the darker colors, black, dark green . also get a plastic strainer or colander . put your dirt in it and shake to eliminate the larger rocks. be sure you put your pan under the strainer first.

Question by EPhantom: What is the science behind gold panning?
What causes the gold to sink to the bottom of a pan when the sediment is swirled around in the pan? I love science greatly, but to my knowledge, the water would apply even force to all of the objects in the pan, and cause them to mix more evenly. could someone please explain.
Best answer:
Answer by PaulCyp Gold is much more dense than other minerals. Therefore it is more resistant to water movement. If you threw a mixture of gold and gravel into several feet of water, all the gold would reach the bottom before the gravel. That's the principle used in panning. Water swirled in the pan lifts the gravel off the bottom of the pan, but the gold stays on the bottom unless the pan is swirled with greater force.
