Question by Linda T: Where is a good place to go gold panning close to Jamestown, Sonora or Mariposa California?
We are out for a day of picture taking, rock hunting, and gold panning, and I am looking for a good site.

I posted this originally in the wrong place. I applogize. I am rather new to posting. I am hoping that someone might know of a good spot to pan a little gold, look for rocks, and take pictures in the Jamestown, Sonora, or Mariposa area.

Gold was discovered in Coloma, and they have a lot of good places to pan for gold on the American river. If that is too far, just about any place on the American river is a good place. I live about 10 miles from the North Fork of it, and my sister found quite a bit of gold in flakes.

Question by i am corban: I need a good prospecting metal detector, any advice?
Well once again im hopin the yahoo comunity pulls through as usual for a tough predicament im in.

I recently got into gold prospecting, panning and such. I have found several rivers and dry beds near me with gold in them.
Needles to say as all things do this hobby has grew into more. I wan to step it up a notch and get a detector thats able to be partially submerged to "sniff out" small amount of gold nuggets. Upon weeks of research i am still unable to get a clear answer to my problem.

I could care less about coins and such im only interested in gold "nuggets" and not jewelry as far as prospecting goes. Does anyone know of a metal detector that can meet my needs??? It has to be able to be partially submerged as i scan pockets for nuggets, not to mention be able to pick out at least a gram.

Any helpfull info out there in yahoo land????

Of course you know there are a whole bunch of name brands out there for metal detectors. They do pretty well on their own, and they all find metal. The best machine you need comes from a manufacture called Minelab. www.minelab.com They are an Australian company that produces machines specifically for prospecting. Go to their website and choose the best machine that suits your needs. They have dealers in North America. Hope this helps?

Soak in some hot water with Dawn dish liquid. If the pans aren't non-stick you could scrub them with a paste of baking soda.:)

I hate panning in my films cause it goes by so fast and most inexpensive tripods suck at panning. Do you think a film would be horrible without panning scenes?

I want to go gold mining in California and I don't know where to go. I'm not like some Old Timers who use the pumps and stuff but the regular shovel and pan. Camp Williams on the San Gabriel River still has some gold. This is actually a video head and can not flip the camera up to a portrait frame. This is one of the reasons I like it!

I use most of my photos within video context, even slide-shows are projected on a screen of some sort.
I try to avoid the wide vertical shot most of the time.

Along with this personal favored feature, this is a very smooth panning and tilting head and is very reasonably priced for it's quality. And if needed, you can be creative and mount the camera in the vertical position.

Question by : Are there any good acting classes near Polk County in Florida?
I have little experience and want to become an actress. I'm 13 and I Truly believe that I would be great and successful at acting. My mom is always going to support my decisions as long as they make good money. (Lol)

I have tried out an audition for a commercial once without any experience... They said my only problem was that I need to work on my interviewing. When I'm interviewed, I seem to be kind of nervous and stutter my words a bit. (That's improved a bit though:)) They told us that I could take interviewing classes (They cost ,000 for all of them) we said, No thank you! Last year, I went into a school club, called FCCLA, and I've learned a lot! I learned to recite about a 1 page script speech, while turning pages to our manual, without looking at the book. At State, we won gold! And at Nationals, we won silver... (2 points away from being gold!) It was our first time EVER doing star events in FCCLA! Anyway... We have this thing at our school, called 'Video Production' Last year I was camera person and I learned everything about the camera, (Panning, dolly, bust-shot, waist-shot, etc.) This coming up year I think I'd be great at anchoring, being a reporter, or even presenting the school's 411! Last year, our school won Best in Show, at the 2008-2009 Video awards! I also play the French Horn in Symphonic band, and I'm use to getting up on stage, in front of a full auditorium and play with my band:)

I think I have potential, and I would like to start building my resume and once I get enough training and start to preform for theaters I'll send out my resume to agents that will sign me. I think that this will truly work out well... What do you think? What do you suggest? I really need a good place to practice acting to start off my acting career. I live in Lakeland, Fl and I don't want to drive too far away to get to my classes, so I can be there on time... (Being late is a bad impression)... Please help:) If you have any suggestions to put on my resume, PLEASE! Don't hesitate!! The economy sucks right now, so we can only rent houses right now, and driving to places that are an hour away don't help. If there are any acting classes out there that aren't so expensive, that would be fantastic!!! Thx sooooooo much!!!
